Abstract

Nowadays, Indonesia has many environmental problems which increase every year. The problems need to be solved by all Indonesia citizens without exception because everyone has responsibilities to deal with the problems. There are a lot of attempts done by the government to cope with the problems however they do not show obvious and significant changes. One of the environmental problems appears in Kampung Code, Yogyakarta. Kampung Code is located under the Gondolayu Bridge and on the bank of the Code River. One of the problems which appear in Kampung Code is sanitation and the amount of rubbish. According to (www.harianjogja.com, 2017), it is stated that the amount of rubbish produced increase every year. One of the solutions to create a clean and healthy environment is by building children’s awareness and educate them about how to take care of their environment in an educative and interesting way. To achieve the solution, the writers propose “COMENT (Chess of Environment): Inovasi Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Edugame sebagai Upaya Menanamkan Karakter Cinta Lingkungan untuk Anak-Anak Kampung Code Yogyakarta”. COMENT is an educative learning media adapted from chess game. It consists of information how to live healthy and clean, questions related to build children’s character education about the environmental, and rewards. It is developed by using R&D method. To implement this media, it needs supports from RT/RW, social communities, government, and also children of Kampung Code. This media can train students’ creativity, strategy, and their critical thinking to solve environmental problems by playing the media.
